Maps and Water

So this week has been eventfull. I had an amazing time last night talking to everyone at Dr. A's show. That was a pretty cool one. I enjoyed the guest Dr. Gwenn O'Keeffe very much. Check out Dr. A's blog about that, because he has some very nice links and even a video that will show you how amazing she is.

Before that, I had been able to go to the local waterpark. It was pretty fun, and I think I'm now addicted to water slides. It was a fun-filled day and I loved getting to hang out there, but it was kind of small-time stuff. Only two slides and the water didn't get deeper than about 3 1/2 feet. I scraped my foot up on the bottom of the pool at one point, so that hurts pretty bad when I brush against something.

Saturday is another beach day!!! I'm excited about it. It'll be the second time I've been to the beach this summer! How neat! This time, I'll be going to a different beach. But I think I'm going to end up having a very nice tan before this summer is over! I'll be loookin soo good!

On the map front, I found a good one, and immediately looked for Dr. A's state and Ramona's state.

So now I can find Ohio and Arkansas. I can also find South Africa on a map, Bongi. I don't have any trouble with that one. I actually think I'm better with world geography than I am with American geography. I can find several different countries that usually, people wouldn't even know existed. Like Estonia. I know where that is. But I think my list of countries would be bigger than my list of states.

So I got the map, and have been mounting it on cork boarding that I got off of my old ruined bulletin board. I was able to detatch the cork from the board, and now I'm attatching it to the map. Next, I'll attatch that to some thin cardboard and then frame it in a frame I have lying around. Actually, the frame belonged to the bulletin board that I took apart.

So it's turning into a really cute project so far! I'm hoping to be able to map the locations of the different medical schools that I've been looking at. With luck, I'll be on my way to medical school in just a couple of years! I've already applied to a bigger school that I hope has a good pre-medical program. So I'll be on my way to bigger and better in no time!

Because of blogging, I'm getting better at world geography. Not great, but better.

I thought I was good at geography until my kids got into school.
